« Daddy changed the world ! » were the words from George Floyd’s 6 year old daughter. Oh yeah this little Angel is a bit prophetic. Floyd may his soul Rest In Peace joins a group of brothers and sisters murdered by a system that thrives on dominating and oppressing others. His death not only reminded the world that systematic racism is far from over but also sparked the resurgence of the conversation about race.
Africa being the world’s oldest civilization and vastly rich has suffered since the 15th century and the list of perpetrators is endless Greeks, Romans, Turkish, French, Spanish, English, Arabs and so on. I saw a video of Paul Kagame condemning some French Judge demanding for the extradition of some Rwanda citizens to France for crimes committed In Rwanda 🇷🇼. If Africa starts demanding all foreigners to be tried for all crimes and atrocities committed in Africa over centuries during Trans Atlantic and Trans Saharan trade not forgetting colonisation some countries in the world will cease to exist on the world map.
Since independence 63 African Presidents have been assassinated by an invisible hand 🖐🏻 not forgetting lives lost during terrorism scams, religious and ethnic wars funded by shadow perpetrators behind the curtain to loot the motherland. When Donald Trump called Black Lives Matter protestors thugs I started contemplating which word to use to describe all folks that have been looting “Ifrikiyah” Africa for centuries. The system killed Floyd. America may have been built on an idea that all men are equal but remember the founding fathers and first presidents all owned slaves and some enslaved people while in office even the White House was built by slaves. I only have a few words for my brothers and sisters in America “Don’t expect a system that thrives on exploiting others to come to your rescue but rather fight to dominate it. You are already halfway across a tightrope moving forward and going backwards are both just as scary; so keep on keeping on hope and love are stronger than hate.
Meghan Markle an American bi racial actress with a taste of life in the limelight headlined the tabloids with her historical marriage into the royal family to Prince Harry. This was seen by some bookmakers as an opportunity for societal change; inclusion; representation and diversity. But as Princess Diana famously said in 1995 as she was leaving the royal family « the higher the media puts you; the harder the fall » Fast forward Megxit happened. Meghan Markle cited racism as part of the reasons megxit happened especially racist slurs directed at her and her baby( some journalist even liking her son to a chimpanzee) by both the media and some Royal family members. When you look at Diana and Meghan Markle all their ordeals and issues with an historically white institution « the firm » rotate around race.
Being a black man all my life I know that no matter what I achieve, how famous I become; in the eyes of some people I will never be good enough because of my skin complexion. You just can’t please everyone so just be yourself.
